Ministry of Health officers arrested for stealing K43 000

TWO officers from the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health have been arrested for corrupt practices involving K43,000.

 

Frank Kampamba, 31, of house number 2618, Dambwa North Extension, Livingstone and Kennedy Mutila, 31, of house number 3675 of the same area were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for corrupt activities involving K43,190.

 

ACC public relations manager, Timothy Moono said in a statement in Lusaka yesterday that the duo had been charged with four counts of fraudulent false accounting.

 

In counts one and two, Kennedy Mutila between November, 2013 and February 28, 2014, in Livingstone acting with other unknown people, with intent to defraud the Government falsely accounted for K16,600 and K1,520 purporting they paid allowances to officers under the Kazungula District Community Development, Mother and Child Health.

 

In counts three and four, Mr Mutila and Frank Kampamba between the same period, again with other unknown people with intent to defraud, falsely accounted for K9,750 and K15,320 purporting they paid allowances to officers in Kazungula under the same ministry.
Mr Moono said the two had since been released on bond.
They will appear for mention on September 21 this year while trial will start on October, 27.
