A 29 year old mental patient man of Msoro’s area in Mambwe district has died after being electrocuted.

Eastern Province Police commissioner Eugene Sibote told ZANIS in an interview yesterday that Mabvuto Mbewe of Katakulila village went missing from his village last Friday but was found dead on a Zesco power pylon the next day around 10 hours.
Mr Sibote said the body of Mabvuto was found with burns on his head, chest and hands. He stated that police do not suspect foul play.

And Mr Sibote says police have heightened mobile patrols in order to enhance security with increased load shedding by Zesco in the
Province.

Mr Sibote stated that though police have not recorded an increase in criminal activities, police will enhance patrols to ensure that
criminals do not take advantage of the situation to commit crimes.

Meanwhile, Mr Sibote has cautioned street vendors on Umodzi highway to relocate to allow the contractors working on the Great east road to
carryout road reconstruction works.

Mr Sibote stated that Police will not allow street vendors to operate on the street and warned that the police will use force to remove the
vendors.
