THE Millennium Challenge Account Zambia (MCA) has assured Lusaka-based members of Parliament that residents who will be resettled due to the Lusaka Water Supply Sanitation drainage (LWSSD) project being implemented will be compensated.

MCA chief executive officer Pamela Bwalya told MPs during the LWSSD meeting in Lusaka yesterday that major resettlements will be done in Mtendere, Kamanga, Kaunda Square and Mazyopa townships.
The LWSSD is a $355 million project and will run for five years, ending in November 2018.

Mrs Bwalya said effects of the project include full and partial loss of houses (60), wall fences (190), latrines (70), bath shelters (30), businesses (30), market stalls (45) and gardens (90).
