Volatile Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says newly appointed United Party for National Development vice president for administration may ditch the opposition political party if he loses the Kasama Central seat by-election.
Mwamba, popularly known as GBM, was recently appointed UPND vice president consequently losing his seat.

GBM has announced that he will re-contest his seat in an area the UPND has yet to register a significant presence since their formation in 1998.
Tayali said GBM has a very emotional personality and may jump out of the UPND flock once he lost his seat.
He also said the police should be heavily mobilized as the election was likely to be violent.

“Knowing GBM and the fact that he may want to win at all costs the election may be violent so I would like to appeal to Inspector General Stella Libongani to ensure that there is heavy security,” he said.
There have been violent skirmishes in Kasama in the aftermath of the seat falling vacant but nothing yet to suggest it could spiral out of control.
