Hundreds of PF- members yesterday took to the streets to celebrate the reported defection of Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geofrey Mwamba who has been appointed opposition UPND Vice President for Administration.
And addressing the jubilant cadres, PF Kasama District Chairman Teddy Mweshi says Mr. Mwamba’s move to the UPND was long over-due.
Mr. Mweshi says the ruling party is pleased that the Kasama lawmaker has finally left the ruling party by accepting to serve as UPND vice president for administration.
And PF Kasama District chairlady, Hilda Banda has challenged Mr. Mwamba to relinquish his parliamentary seat and to pave way for a by-election in Kasama central Constituency.
On Wednesday, Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini reserved ruling on a point of order raised by Chipili Member of Parliament Davies Mwila on whether Kasama Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba was in order to continue serving on the PF ticket when he has crossed the floor.
