Three pedestrians die in road mishap in Kasama

Three people have died on the spot after they were hit by the vehicle at Kalosa Village along Kasama Mbala road.

 

Northern Division Criminal Investigations officer, Mubita Nawa, confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Kasama today and named the victims as Jane Chisha, Mary Kabwe and Brenda Chisha of Mbala District.

 

Mr. Nawa explained that this occurred on Monday around 11: hours when the driver of a Toyota Vista registration number ACP 1880 who was coming from Mbala tried to overtake another vehicle and in the process hit the pedestrians.

 

He said the driver of the vehicle who has only been identified as Mudubeko is on the run and police are searching for him.

 

Mr. Nawa said all the three bodies are lying in Kasama General Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmodern and burial.

 

Meanwhile, Mr. Nawa has disclosed that a 69 year old woman of Chikoti village in Chief Nondo’s area is nursing serious injuries at Senga hill rural health centre after being hit by a Toyota Hiace Minibus registration number ALE 9665 along the Kasama Mbala Road.  

 

 Mr. Nawa has since appealed to drivers to be cautious when they are on the road.
