The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency -MIGA- a member of the World Bank Group has observed that there are a lot of foreign investors exploring investment opportunities in Zambia.

Visiting MIGA Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Keiko Honda says her trip to Zambia is a show of the World Bank’s commitment to supporting private sector development.

Ms. Honda adds that she will hear from both government and the private on strengthening cooperation to better support Foreign Direct Investments-FDI- in the country.

She says MIGA’s core purpose is to bring FDI into Zambia and ensure that private sector investments offer decent returns.

Meanwhile Ms. Honda says the volatility in the currency is not unique to Zambia as Foreign exchange markets across the World are highly volatile.

And World Bank Country Manager for Zambia Ina Ruthenberg says Zambia’s fiscal situation is on the tight spot.

Ms Ruthenberg has however revealed that government has been addressing the situation adding that the World Bank is also engaged in dialogue with government over the matter.
