2 year old girl raped & murdered

A two year old girl of Chipembele Village in Chief Liteta’s chiefdom in Chibombo district has been defiled and murdered by unknown people.

Central Province Commissioner of Police Lillian Kamukoshi has confirmed the incident to ZANIS in a telephone interview.
Ms Kamukoshi said the incident is suspected to have occurred between 21:00 hours on Tuesday night and 06:00 hours yesterday.

She identified the deceased as Faith Nshimba.

Ms Kamukoshi said the victim was sleeping in her mother’s house when unknown people sneaked in and snatched her.
She explained that the mother of the victim had left home and was at her relative’s house located within the same neighbourhood, when the child was snatched out of the house.

Ms Kamukoshi said the body of the child was discovered yesterday morning in the nearby bush about 200 meters from the house where she had slept.

She said police have since instigated an investigation into the murder case.

And according to the mother of the victim, Susan Malakata, her daughter was sleeping with two other children when she was stolen.

Ms Malakata said the victim was the youngest adding that the other children were a female aged seven, and another male aged six.

She narrated that she had left the three children sleeping in the house around 20 hours on Tuesday night after her neighbour, who is also her relative, invited her for supper.

Ms Malakata said after having supper, she went back to her house only to discover that her two year old daughter had gone missing.
The body of the deceased is currently at Kabwe General Hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, Chibombo Central Ward Councillor Robby Malindima has described the incident as barbaric and inhuman.

Mr Malindima has urged community members to have confidence in the police and cooperate with them during the investigations.

And Senior Headman Chipembele said he is shocked at the murder incident which has happened in his village.

He prayed that the police would soon bring to book the people involved in the death of the child.
