Government has condemned people calling for a meeting of Tonga people to discuss PF Secretary General Davis Chama’s alleged derogatory remarks.

Chief Government Spokesperson, Chishimba Kambwili says the move is misplaced and should be condemned.

Mr. Kambwili was reacting to an advert placed in Post Newspaper on Monday July 13,2015 calling for Tongas to take a common position on Mr. Chama’s alleged derogatory remarks.

He however warned the organizers of the meeting of serious consequences if they attempt to discuss secession.

And State House says it is extremely unfortunate that few urban elites want to resuscitate their political fortunes by promoting tribalism.

Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, Amos Chanda says Chiefs from Southern province have already condemned tribal talks and should therefore not be involved.

And Chieftainess Mwenda of Chikankata District in Southern Province has called on government to quickly act on some media houses that are preaching hate speech.

Chieftainess Mwenda has told ZANIS in Mazabuka that Zambians have lived as one since independence.

She says reports attributed to Chiefs in Southern Province that they were advocating for secession are a mere fabrication and has never been on the mind of the people in Southern Province.

The traditional leader has called for an end to tribal talk saying such utterances will not take the country forward.

And Chieftainess Mwenda has welcomed the move by President Lungu to invite chiefs in the province to a round table discussion at State House.

She says as far as chiefs are concerned in the province they will continue rendering support and advice to the President and his government.
