NATIONAL Assembly have terminated the contract of coach George Kapembwa.

This follows a string of uninspiring results which have left the ‘Parliamentarians’ rooted 14th on the Super Division table with 14 points.

Assembly have managed four wins, two draws and nine losses.
Assembly vice-chairperson Davies Chiimbwe confirmed the dismissal in Lusaka yesterday and said Kapembwa’s former assistant Francis Majaka will take charge.

When contacted, Kapembwa said: “I have not heard or seen anything, I will be able to comment tomorrow [today].”
Kapembwa is the fifth Super Division coach to be sidelined this season.
The other culprits are Dabid Chilufya (Forest Rangers), Hector Chilombo (Napsa Stars), Beston Chambeshi (Nkana) and Dick Ngwenya (Nakambala Leopards).

Kapembwa guided Assembly to the elite league at the end of the 2013 season and the outfit survived relegation last season.
Meanwhile, Napsa Stars have released former international strikers Davies Mwape and Nchimunya Mweetwa.
Club secretary Owen Chimpinde said in Lusaka on Tuesday that the players are free to join teams of their choice.
Others released are goalkeepers Lennon Muma, Richard Chama and Bob Nsuwa, defender Angel Kalangu and striker Peter Olangi.
Chimpinde said the axing of the players will create room for new signings during the mid-season transfer window.

“The club has released seven players. They [players] are free to join any other team they would like to. We want to re-energise the team,” he said.
Mwape had stints with Chambishi, South African sides Orlando Pirates and Jomo Cosmos, Tanzanian giants Young Africans, and Zanaco, while Mweetwa featured for Kitwe United, Zesco United and Finnish outfit RoPS.

And newly appointed coach Wilson Mwale said with hard work, Napsa will survive relegation.
Mwale, flanked by his assistant Dick Ngwenya, said in Lusaka on Tuesday that his target is to ensure Napsa remain in the elite league.
He is targeting to recruit five players to strengthen the strike force.
Napsa are second from bottom with 11 points, one better than tailenders Nakambala Leopards.
