Over 23 drivers to participate in Action Auto rally

More than 23 drivers have confirmed participation in the 2015 fourth Action Auto challenge national rally competition which will be held on 5th July at Sebo Farms in Chisamba.

 

Zambia Motor Sport Association Technical Advisor Muna Singh says more competitors are expected to confirm their participation before the close of registration on Friday this week.

 

Singh says the event marks the middle calendar of 2015 which has eight national events every year. 

 

He says this year’s rally will be a 145 kilometres race.

 

And Singh has revealed that Action Auto is the main sponsor of the event and has pumped in a total of US$5,000.

 

Meanwhile, Action Auto Director Ashish Patel says his company is proud to be associated with the sport that produces quality results.

 

Patel says the company is building a new Isuzu that will be unique for the sport adding that Zambia is the only country that got highest marks in vehicle fitness in all the 2015 competition they have participated in.

 

He further said the performance of Zambia at continental competitions is encouraging and as such the winner of the fourth rally will walk away with K4, 000 cash.

 

Patel thanked government and the Minister of Sports Vincent Mwale for sponsoring and supporting the sport for the first time in the history of Zambia.

 

The first round of qualifiers for the same event will be held on Saturday at show grounds in Lusaka.
