A CYCLIST and his pillion rider have died after they were knocked down by a minibus while trying to cross Tuta Road in Samfya.
Luapula Province deputy commissioner of police Webby Shula said in an interview yesterday that the accident happened on Monday around 20:45 hours about 80kms from Musaila junction.
He said Evans Chalwe and Bupe Mwape both aged 22, were taken to Samfya General Hospital, where they died on Tuesday morning.
“Mr Chalwe and Mr Mwape were hit by the vehicle as they tried to change lanes. We have not yet established where these two come from. Their bodies are still in the mortuary at the same hospital,” Mr Shula said.
