Zambia National Soccer Team care taker coach, George Lwandamina, says the Chipolopolo boys responded well when they held their second training session this morning at Independence Stadium.

Lwandamina says Zambia has put behind the loss against the Brave Warriors of Namibia at the recent COSAFA Cup in South Africa a game which saw Zambia bow out of the tournament.

He adds that games are different and the loss at the COSAFA tournament will not affect them because even the approach towards each game differs.

The care taker coach notes that the CHAN competition is a prestige tournament for African countries and Zambia is not exceptional and will do everything possible to qualify.

He believes the team will start the campaign on a positive note, adding that he has dedicated the whole week on working on the striking force.

Lwandamina has also called ZANACO football club goalkeeper, Toaster Nsabata to join the Chipolopolo CHAN squad that is currently camping in Lusaka to prepare for this weekend’s first round first leg match against the Brave Warriors in Namibia, bringing the number of players called into camp to 25.

Some of the players that have been summoned are under-17 captain and Nchanga Rangers forward, Patson Daka, Jack Chirwa of Green Buffaloes, Fackson Kapumbu of Zanaco and Boyd Mkandawire of Napsa Stars Football Club.

On Sunday June 21, 2015, Zambia commences her campaign for a place at the 2016 Rwanda CHAN championships with an away fixture against Namibia at Independence Stadium in Windhoek. Zambia will travel to Windhoek on Friday June 19.

The CHAN Championships is a tournament designed by CAF to showcase local talent by participating countries where professional footballers are excluded from this tournament.
