Police in  Isoka District of Muchinga Province this morning intercepted another truck load of  Mukula tree logs.

Major Siwila  said  a Zambian Truck registration number ALL 7765  was  found transporting Mukula logs  at Kazilamabwe  Village near Mafinga hills.

The District Commissioner said police will continue fighting the illegal trading in Mukula tree logs.

He explained that  two  people were  on board the truck  but  the driver  managed to jump out  of the moving truck leaving his assistant who is detained at  Isoka police station helping with investigations.

The District Commissioner has since appealed to the Government  to empower Isoka police station with reliable mode of transport that would assist in curbing the vice.

He said police have no vehicle that can be used to track the illegal Mukula traders because the harvest is done in hilly and sandy places that other vehicles fall to reach.
