ACC arrests former Luwingu DC for corrupt practices involving K92 000

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested former Luwingu District Commissioner Mambwe Katontoka for corrupt practices involving K 91, 685.

Ms. Katontoka 42, who resides in Lupili Township in Luwingu, has been charged with eight counts of Abuse of Authority of Office contrary to section 21 (1) (a) of the Anti -Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.

Particulars of the offence are that on dates unknown but between 1st January 2012 and 31st December 2013 in Luwingu, Ms. Katontoka during her tenure of office as Luwingu District Commissioner, allegedly abused the authority of her office in the manner she awarded eight contracts worth K 91, 685, for the supply of various goods and services to her husband Mr. Costaver Malitati.

Ms. Katontoka allegedly awarded three contracts in Mr. Costaver Malitati’s name and five (5) to Chisungusho Contractors, a company owned by Costaver Malitati.

She has since been released on police bond but she is expected to appear in court soon.

This according to a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by ACC Acting Public Relations Manager Dorothy Mwanza.

  1. Its always amazes me why these poweful guys at ACC and DEC fail to arrest anyone when they are in office.All the time busy arresting former chakuti chakuti,does it mean only former chakutis are arrestable???
