MTV Africa has announced the nominees for MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) 2015.

The nominees for the MTV Africa Music Awards 2015 were revealed at a glitzy ceremony in Johannesburg on Thursday evening.

Local stars will go head-to-head with their peers from across the continent when the awards are held in Durban on 18 July.

Cassper Nyovest leads the pack on home soil, scooping three nominations for Best Newcomer, Best Hip-Hop track and Best Song of the Year.

Even though AKA walked away with nominations in the Best Male and Best Collaboration categories – he quickly became a talking point for being ‘snubbed’ in the best hip-hop category.

Cassper and AKA were followed closely by K.O, who banked two nominations in the Song of the Year and Best Hip-Hop categories.

  1. Who can nominate them when they only sing useless songs to insult our leaders whilst their friends sing songs that entertain and educate.
