POLICE in Eastern Province are offering a K5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of four people who murdered a 37-year-old albino woman of Lundazi.
The suspects attacked Charity Zimba in her house while she was with her husband Robby Nyirongo, cut off her right hand and removed her teeth in a suspected ritual.
Mr Nyirongo sustained injuries and is in hospital.
Eastern Province commissioner of police Eugene Sibote told journalists in Chipata yesterday: “We have put forward a K5,000 reward to be given to someone who will help us with information that will lead to the arrest of the culprits in the gruesome murder of the albino woman.”
Meanwhile, police in Vubwi have arrested 12 people for allegedly attempting to smuggle 140 logs of the mukula tree.

Mr Sibote said the suspects were arrested around midnight yesterday and are in police custody.
He said a special police team has been constituted to help curb illegal logging of the trees.
Mr Sibote said the team has been tasked to establish how much timber has been seized and kept at various police stations in the region.
He said the seized timber will bear special marks to prevent unscrupulous people from reselling it once it is auctioned by the courts.
And three juveniles have died in Nyimba after a Mercedes Benz truck they were travelling in overturned on Great East Road.
Mr Sibote said the accident happened yesterday around midnight when Obert Phiri, who was driving the truck, lost control.
