A man of Shiwang’andu district has committed suicide in Matumbo area after assaulting his wife, who later died.
Muchinga Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka who confirmed the development to ZANIS today said Casious Nsofwa of Kaluba Malama village in chief Chibesa kunda‘s chiefdom assaulted his wife Maureen Bwalya 25, on 1st June, 2015.
Mr Daka said it is alleged that her husband used fists and sticks to assault his wife who sustained back aches and general body pains.
He told ZANIS that the victim died at Matumbo police station afterbeing issued with a medical report form adding that Bwalya’s body iscurrently in Chinsali District Community Hospital pending post-mortem.
Mr Daka said from the time the incident happened, the suspect had been at large adding that Nsofwa was only discovered died yesterday after a man hunt.
