A 73-YEAR-OLD disabled man of Kabwe has been stung to death by a swarm of bees.
Central Province deputy commissioner of police Edwin Bwanga and Kabwe mayor Richard Bango confirmed this in separate interviews yesterday.
Mr Bwanga said the incident happened on Sunday around 14:30 hours at Chimanimani market.
He identified the deceased as Abraham Kaseba.
Mr Bwanga said the incident happened after an unidentified man threw stones at the beehive, which disturbed the bees.
Mr Kaseba failed to flee the scene while traders scampered to safety. He was stung to death.
“The deceased failed to escape from the bees because of his disability,” Mr Bwanga said.
Mr Kaseba was taken to Kabwe General Hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.
Mr Bango, who is also Ngungu ward councillor, described Mr Kaseba’s death as sad.
