A 52 –year-old old man of Kasama died on the spot in a head on collision with an on-coming vehicle in Chinsali District.
The accident happened on Wednesday last week around 12:00hrs along Mpika-Kasama road at Sabwa Village.
Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka has confirmed the incident to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali, today.
The accident occurred when the driver Boniface Mwila who was driving Toyota Chaser registration number ALE 6753 carrying one passenger lost control and hit into an oncoming vehicle.
Mwila hit into a Toyota Spacio registration number ACZ 4473 which was being driven by Caphas Ndashi with 4 passengers in and careered off the road.
The Police Commissioner said that Mwila died on the spot after sustaining head injuries. His body is currently lying at Mpika Community Hospital Mortuary.
Mr. Daka said that survivors of the accident are receiving treatment at Mpika Hospital where they were rushed.
Mr. Daka also said that Toyota Chaser Vehicle has incurred extensive damages on the back part while Toyota Spacio Vehicle has extensive damages on the front part.
