FORMER permanent secretary in charge of administration at cabinet office Anne Mwewa has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of abuse of authority of office.
Mwewa denied all the charges leveled against her when she appeared for plea before Kitwe chief resident magistrate Penjani Lamba.
In the first count Mwewa is charged with awarding a contract worth K888,374. 00 to Rollyz Catering Services without following laid down procurement procedures, between January and December 2013 in Kitwe.

In the second count, it is alleged that Mwewa between January and December 2013 awarded a contract worth K142,000 to Hostels Board of Management without following laid down procurement procedures.
In count three, Mwewa allegedly awarded a contract worth K500,000 to Nobuthula Lodge without following laid down procurement guidelines.
In the fourth count, Mwewa between January and December 2013, in Kitwe, allegedly abused her office by awarding a contract worth K179,984. 70 to Sherbourne Farms Limited without following laid down procurement guidelines.
