THE Judiciary has suspended Lusaka High Court acting chief marshal Xavier Ndeketeya for professional misconduct and delayed banking involving more than K200,000.
Judiciary public relations officer, Terry Musonda said Mr Ndeketeya has been requested not to be reporting for work this week to pave way for investigations in his alleged delayed banking of court funds and professional misconduct.
More than K200,000 had not been banked at a time he served as Lusaka Magistrate Court Complex Clerk years back.
Mr Musonda said the Judiciary regretted the turn of events and would ensure that thorough investigations were conducted to establish what caused the delay in banking the money and further appropriate measures implemented.

“As per standard practice, our former clerk of court at the Lusaka magistrate courts complex has been suspended with immediate effect, we regret the turn of events but this is to facilitate for smooth investigations into the matter,” he said.
Mr Musonda has since urged all the staff at the Judiciary charged with similar responsibilities to adhere to the laid down financial regulations and ensure that they perform accordingly to avoid putting the name of the organisation into disrepute.
“In the interim, his work load at the Lusaka High court has been taken care of in order for the litigants and general public to continue accessing judicial services.
