LLEGAL fuel vendors in Livingstone, cashing in on the fuel shortage, have increased the price of petrol from K10 to K12 per litre.
The vendors, who were selling 2.5 litres of petrol at K25, are now selling it at K30, attributing the increase to the high foreign exchange rate of foreign currencies.
Livingstone Spar station taxi drivers’ chairman Gerald Maseya expressed displeasure at the prices.

“We used to buying at K25 per 2.5 liters of petrol from the black market but by yesterday (Saturday), they had increased the price. These vendors are taking advantage of the current fuel crisis that the country is going through,” he said, adding that Government should resolve the matter urgently.
