Acting President swears in Permanent Secretaries

Acting President Ngosa Simbyakula has sworn in five Permanent Secretaries who were recently appointed by President Edgar Lungu.

Dr. Simbyakula said he was instructed by President Lungu to swear in the Permanent Secretaries so that they can start work immediately.

He said during the swearing in ceremony at State House today that he was in constant touch with President Lungu who instructed him to swear- in the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries.

The Acting President congratulated the Permanent Secretaries on their appointments saying the President decided to appoint them to their positions out of many Zambians because he had confidence in their abilities.

Those who have been sworn in include Dr. Ronald Simwinga as Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary, Godfrey Malama as Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary and Sturdy Mwale as Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary respectively.

Others are Bright Nundwe as Permanent Secretary for Muchinga Province while Mwangala Liomba has been sworn in as Western Province Permanent Secretary.

And speaking to journalists after the swearing in ceremony, Finance PS Ronald Simwinga thanked President Lungu for his appointment saying he will offer his knowledge and skills to ensure that  the many things that need to be done by the ministry were tacked.

And the new Information Permanent Secretary Godfrey Malama said he will ensure that the mandate of the ministry is carried forward.

Mr. Malama said the media should provide quality and accurate information to the public to enable them make well informed decisions.

Western Province PS Mwangala Liomba said he will work towards developing newly created districts in the region because people in the area have been longing for development.
