Lusaka, March 12, ZANIS — Pan African Youth Union president Francine Mayumba has described First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda as a true Father of the nation.
Ms Muyumba said Dr. Kaunda laid a strong foundation that has enabled the preservation of the country’s peace and stability.
Ms Muyumba who hails from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) said this when she paid a courtesy call on Dr. Kaunda at his State Lodge residence in Lusaka yesterday.
And Dr Kaunda advised Zambian youths to serve God, carry on loving one another and be humble in order to succeed in life.
And earlier when she addressed youths at Kalingalinga Youth Center Ms. Muyumba urged them to continue with the maturity and peace they showed during the January presidential by-elections.
She said many African countries were liberated today because of the good example that Zambian had shown in maintaining peace.
Meanwhile, Ms. Muyumba told youths at Chawama Skills Training Centre to work hard and never to give up in life.
She also urged youths at the National Youth Network on Population and Development in Kabwata township to ensure that they aimed to be part of decision making in parliament.
The Pan African Youth Union President is in the country on a visit which coincides with celebrations to mark Youth Day.
