Lusaka, March 12, ZANIS–Zambia U-20 National Football Team captain Lubambo Musonda will miss tonight’s Group B clash against Ghana at the on-going 2015 African Youth Championship in Senegal.
Team Doctor Mwila Lupasha who revealed the development to fazfootball.com monitored by ZANIS Sports in Lusaka today said the midfielder was experiencing continued pain and a bit of swelling on his right ankle.
Lupasha said Musonda picked up the injury in the opening Group B match against Mali on Monday which consequently led him to sit out of Tuesday and Wednesday’s training sessions.
He added that Lubambo was making slow progress to recovery but hoped that he would be fit for the match against South Africa’s Amajita on Sunday.
Lupasha however said it was too early to comment on the player’s full recovery before the last game against South Africa but hoped he will be fine by then.
The Junior Chipolopolo this evening at 21:30 hour’s local time takes on the Black Satellites of Ghana in a second crucial Group B match.
