Five file for Mungwi Central local elections

Five file for Mungwi Central local elections
Mungwi, March 10, 2015, ZANIS…Five candidates have successfully
filed in their nominations ahead of next month’s Mungwi Central Local
Government by-election.

These are Forum for Democratic Development  (FDD)’s Albert Mwansa,
Patriotic Front’s Charles Mwaba Makando and Mutale Mpundu of the
United National Independence Party (UNIP).

Others are United Party for National Development (UPND)’s Gilbert
Mfune and Annie Kumbulani of the Movement for Multi-party Democracy
(MMD) who earlier struggled to raise the required nine supporters.

The five hopefuls filed their nomination papers before Malole
Constituency Returning Officer Lewis Kwenda at Shula Basic School
today.

Mungwi Central Local Government by-election will take place on 14th
April, 2015.

The seat fell vacant following the death of the incumbent councillor
Chola Chilekwa.
