Women advised to desist from negative vices

———– Women in Luwingu district have been advised to desist from engaging in vices that undermines the integrity of a woman such as beer drinking and indecent dressing.

Luwingu District Commissioner Mambwe Katontoka said that women play an important role in society in all sectors of national development hence the need for them to behave themselves.

 

Mrs. Katontoka observed that beer drinking and indecent dressing among women was the major recipe for prostitution in the province especially in Luwingu.

The Luwingu District Commissioner said this yesterday during the International Women’s Day celebration.

Mrs. Katontoka said women’s day is a time to reflect on achievement made by women.

 

She called on men to declare all homes peaceful zones and to stop the vices such as defilements, abuse and fighting.

And speaking at the same function, Luwingu District Women Association Chairperson, Christine Kalinso commended President Edger Chagwa Lungu for appointing Inonge Wina as Vice president.


Mrs. Kalinso said time has come to uphold women achievement, recognize challenges and focus greater attention on women’s rights and greater equality for all.

 

She said that women are not sex objects but partners in all aspects of life such as developmental activities.
