First Lady urges women in Kasama to continue working hard

Kasama, March 06, ZANIS—————– First Lady Esther Lungu has urged women
clubs in Kasama to continue with their good work if they are to
become role models and economically independent.

Speaking when she addressed women of Twatasha Women’s Club in Katongo
Village recently, Mrs. Lungu said she was impressed with the projects
being undertaken by the women club in the district such as farming and
sewing.

The First Lady said her visit to Kasama has enabled her understand
the challenges that women and vulnerable children are facing in
communities.

She also noted that women and children were the most vulnerable people
in the society hence the need for women to engage in serious economic
activities to uplift their welfare.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Lungu thanked the people of Northern Province for
having voted for President Edgar Lungu in the last presidential
election.

The First Lady said President Lungu and Government were committed to
uplift the welfare of women in the country.

And in a vote of thanks, Twatasha women’s club Chairlady
Charity Mvunga said women in Katongo village were pleased with the
First Lady’s visit to their centre.

Ms. Mvunga added that Mrs. Lungu’s visit would encourage more women to
participate in economic activities.

She further appealed to the First Lady to continue with the same
spirit of helping the needy in the country.
