Afunika lights up Kitwe’s Leelove stage

MULWANDA LUPIYA, Kitwe
AFUNIKA ‘the king of the new version Kalindula’ last Friday lived up to his title with an electric performance at Kitwe’s Club Leelove in Buchi township.
The show which started around 20:00 hours, drew a packed audience that turned up to watch the energetic Afunika and his dancing ‘kings’ perform live.
The Chingola based artiste only appeared on stage around 23:30 hours and did not disappoint his fans when he took over the microphone.
The Eye of an Eagle as Afunika refers to himself in his tracks, immediately performed hit songs like Careless Dj, Wibomfwila featuring late Pjay, Example, Efyomwampela,
Moment of Time, among others, that sent the crowd into a frenzy.
Fans who could not stay back and watch from off the stage, joined Afunika on stage and danced to their favourite tracks.

Afunika’s male dancers added enough spice to the show by putting up a dazzling performance with their swift dance moves, much to the amusement of the audience.
Afunika rekindled old memories when he shared songs from his previous albums.
The show was however cut short by heavy rains which started around 01:00 hours, forcing the artiste to abandon the stage. His loyal fans seemed not to mind the weather and craved for more.
Club Leelove has continued to host a number of top quality Zambian artistes since opening its doors to the public in December last year and has so far gained the status of providing quality entertainment among Zambian music enthusiasts on the Copperbelt.
