Disabled people call for better policies to improve their livelihood

—–Persons living with disabilities in Chavuma district of North-western Province have appealed to the PF government to consider putting in place deliberate policies that would address the plight of incapacitated people living in rural areas.

 

Speaking on behalf of the other disabled people, Ndoji Fungula, a Grade 12 pupil at Chavuma Day Secondary School, observed that God blessed all disabled person with special gifts that could be used to improve their wellbeing and called on government to design deliberate programmes that will uplift the living standard of those living with disabilities in remote areas.

 

Fungula said people living with disabilities have the ability and potential to contribute to national development but needed government to extend certain incentives to enable them venture into sustainable income generating activities.

 

He complained that disabled people in remote areas have been neglected.
