94 year old man murdered

———–A 94 year old man of St Dorothy in Solwezi has been murdered by unknown people in his house.

The incident happened yesterday between 06:00 and 07:00 hours at Sautale village.

North-Western province commissioner of police Grace Chipalila confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Solwezi today.

Ms Chipalila said the unidentified man who was staying alone was stabbed in the back and sustained a broken right wrist.

Ms Chipalila said police have since instituted investigations into the matter to establish the motive behind the killing.

She has since appealed to members of the public missing a relative to come forward and identity the body which is currently lying in Solwezi general hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, police have found the five year old boy who was stolen together with a vehicle by a prisoner from Solwezi state prison.

Ms Chipalila said the boy was abandoned at the Solwezi-Chingola check point and has since reunited with the father Warren Chembe a Lecturer at Solwezi skills training centre.

She said the prisoner Joseph Chileshe is still on the run.
