NGOCC supports Lungu

Kabwe, February 14,2015,ZANIS……Women in Central Province have thanked President Edgar Lungu for appointing women to decision making positions.

 

The women who were led by the Non- Governmental Organizations Coordinating Council (NGOCC) Regional Coordinator for Central and Eastern Provinces Pascal Kambafwile said the appointment of women was a clear sign of the notable strides women have made in acquiring high levels of excellence.

 

He said the appointment of women will be an opportunity for them to contribute to the development of the country.

 

“We are aware of many other women in Central Province and Zambia at large who are working tirelessly to emancipate this nation from the unjustifiable York of poverty. “He said.

 

Mr Kambafwile said the women who have been appointed will not only be leaders in their own right and capacity but a shining beacon of excellence to the nation.

 

He said NGOCC will not relent in ensuring that equity and equality define the developmental relationships that exist between women and men, girls and boys.

 

The women also welcomed the newly appointed Minister to the Province and pledged their support to government.

 

And newly appointed Central Province Minister Davis Chisopa challenged women led Non-Governmental organizations to reach out to their colleagues in rural parts of the country.

 

He said there was need for women led organizations to contribute largely in reducing poverty levels for the women in rural parts of the country.

 

The Provincial Minister said it was time for women in the far flung areas of the district to participate in the governance of the country.

 

He said government will continue giving support to organizations which aim at uplifting the lives of women.
