Govt. reaffirms commitment to modernize Mansa District

 

Mansa,  February 07,  2015,  ZANIS –  Government  has reaffirmed its commitment  to transform Mansa Town, which is the Provincial Capital for Luapula Province, into a modern Town.

 

Luapula  Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Joyce Nsamba  says government through her provincial office would better modernize the provincial capital through better and upgraded road infrastructural connectivity.

 

Mrs Nsamba was speaking on a Live Radio KFM Programme dabbed : “Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Urban Roads in Mansa District”.

 

She said currently there were three programmes for upgrading urban roads in the district the Mansa Luwingu 175 kilometers road Project started in November 2013 by Contractor China Henan Chico at the cost of K206 million US Dollars.

 

She further disclosed that government  has engaged two contractors namely Messr Hua Jiang Investment Limited and Marks Industries Limited to   work on

 

 

She said China Henan within Mansa district will work on the Musenga new Mufulira road, ZNS via UB to Suburbs Compound road, access roads to Provincial Administration Offices.

 

She said the rehabilitation works of the Mansa Airport runway were on hand , maintenance of all paved roads which include President road (from Cavmont Bank via Chakopo Primary School to Chembe road), Chitimukulu road, Chipampwe road joining Cathedral road, Cathedral to Chakopo School road, Chilyapa to Down UB Road and Kabunda road up to the end of the current tarmac.

 

The Deputy Permanent Secretary disclosed that the 27.85 kilometers roads to be upgraded from gravel to bituminous standard by Messr Hua Jiang Investment Limited and Marks Industries Joint Venture  after a contract was recently signed at the cost of Ninety Six Million Kwacha.
