Chief Lwambo in Kalabo congratulates President Lungu

 

Kalabo, February 6th,2015, ZANIS —–   Chief Lwambo of the Nyengo speaking people in Sikongo District has joined the rest in congratulating President Edgar Lungu on his victory in the just ended Presidential by-election.

 

 

The Chief said he is also humbled by the President’s appointment of  Mrs Inonge Wina as the first female vice President in Zambia.

 

 

Chief Lwambo told ZANIS today that much as the President appointment of Mrs Wina as Vice President should see to more appointment of people from Western Province in other important government positions to ensure meaningful development in the area.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the Chief appealed to President Lungu to expedite the constructing of Kalabo/ Sikongo road, which was in a deplorable state.

 

 

 

Chief Lwambo explained that farmers were currently unable to transport their crops using oxcarts to Kalabo which is the central business district due the bad state of the road.

 

 

He noted that the bad state of the road had negatively affected income levels of rice farmers in the area as they were cut off from the rest of the Province considering that it was a rainy season and most parts were flooded.

 

 

The Chief further  said his subjected had for a long time been denied of   better roads adding that the coming on board of Mr. Lungu would yield fruits as he was continuing with the Patriotic Front (PF) vision.

 

 

 

The traditional leader was however grateful that the area was now able to access Zamtel network and people in his Chiefdom were communicating to the outside world.
