—Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary, George Zulu, has dismissed allegations that former Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services (MIBS) Permanent Secretary, Emmanuel Mwamba, has refused to be appointed in the Foreign Service.

Mr Zulu told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that Mr Mwamba has accepted is position with pride.

Mr Zulu could, however, not state the country and the position he will be deployed, saying they are still working on logistics.

He said Mr Mwamba has already been served with a letter of appointment and he has accepted his position in writing.

Mr Zulu said Mr Mwamba has already started his diplomacy training at the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy Studies (ZIDIS).

He said Mr Mwamba and others who are going in the Foreign Service have been at the training school for a week now.

Mr Zulu said it is unfortunate that people are spreading rumours that Mr Mwamba has rejected the appointment when in fact not.

He said those spreading such rumours are enemies of progress who should not be listened to.

Mr Zulu said people must learn to speak the truth and not be in the habit of spreading rumours.

He said he is aware of the few that are spreading such rumours and the ministry is going to deal with them sternly.

Mr Zulu said he will not allow indiscipline in the country where people are allowed to tarnish the image of government.
