—The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a Director of Legal and Corporate Services from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) for corrupt practices involving K50,000.

ACC Corporate Affairs Officer, Jonathan Siame, said Maureen Mwanza,37, of house number 21 Ngulube Road Prospect Hill, who is also a former legal and Compliance Manager at Citizen Economics Empowerment Commission (CEEC) is charged with one count of conflict of interest contrary to the Anti-Corruption Act No. 38 0F 2010.

This was contained in a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today.

It alleged that on dates unknown but between October 1, 2010, and November 30, 2010, Mwanza did not declare interest in the processing of a loan facility worth K50, 000 to Beta Brothers Enterprises Ltd, a company in which her husband Ben Mwanza is Director and shareholder.

Mrs Mwanza has since been granted a bond and is scheduled to appear in court soon.
