The Zambia Direct Democracy Movement (ZDDM) has urged President Lungu to market PF and accelerate development in United Party for National Development (UPND) strongholds.

ZDDM Vice President Charles Kafumbo said it is only prudent and cardinal that President Lungu moves in quickly in Southern, Western and North-western provinces to market himself and PF in readiness for the 2016 general elections.

Mr Kafumbo said this in a congratulatory message to President Lungu on his election as the country’s sixth republican and Jubilee president, in a statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today.

The ZDDM leader paid tribute to Chawama constituency for producing a sitting parliamentarian as a Head of State.

He said the election of Mr Lungu has set a record in the annals of the country’s 50 year political history.

Mr Kafumbo expressed optimism that President Lungu will exhibit strong leadership and statesman qualities in the discharge of the functions of the office of President.

He commended Mr Lungu for appointing women to high decision making positions.

President Lungu recently appointed Inonge Wina as Zambia’s first female Vice President and elevated Irene Mambilima to the position of Chief Justice.
