–Director General for the Prisoner re- integration and Empowerment Organization, Derick Malumo, has commended President Edgar Lungu for appointing Irene Mmbilima as new Chief Justice.

Mr Malumo said Ms Mambilima is a right person for the position of Chief Justice, which he said has come at an appropriate time.

He disclosed the development to the Zambia News and Information Serves (ZANIS) in Lusaka today.

Mr Malumo stated that Mr Lungu means well when he says he wants to appoint many women in decision-making positions.

And Mr Malumo said President Lungu should move in as quickly as possible to congest many prison detention facilities in the country.

Mr Malumo said many cases in courts of law take long to be disposed of, making suspects wallow in prison for so many years without trial.

He noted that justice denied is justice delayed, a thing he said the new Head of State should control as quickly as possible.
