PPAZ hands delivery kits to Govt

Mansa, December 19, ZANIS——————————-Acting Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Joyce Nsamba says government recognizes the importance of equipping health facilities with modern equipment.

Ms Nsamba further reaffirmed government’s commitments to the implementation of the 1994 international conference on population development and millennium development goal number four and five.

ZANIS reports that the Acting Permanent Secretary said this yesterday in a speech ready for her by Mansa District Administrative Officer Evans Sikabubba during the handover of the delivery kits and equipment to government by Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ).

The delivery kits and equipment worthy K180,000 was handed over to government in Mansa today at Buntungwa clinic.

Ms Nsmba commended the Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ) for supplementing government efforts aimed at improving mother and child health through safe motherhood.

She said the move by the Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia, Plan International and Germany to donate delivery kits is in line with government efforts of ensuring that no mother dies during delivery.

And speaking earlier, Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia Luapula Provincial Coordinator Mark Chomba said his organization wants to see improved mother and child health through an integrated health service system which will ensure mothers deliver under safe conditions.

Mr Chomba reviewed that the project is targeting four health centres namely Senema, Buntungwa, Chembe and Matanda.

And Acting District Community Medical Officer, Steven Ngoye urged the users of the equipment to put the equipment to good use.
