Relegated Kabwe Warriors to maintain coach

Kabwe, December 18, ZANIS–Demoted FAZ/MTN super division side Kabwe Warrior’s football club chairman Webster Mtambo has said the team will maintain its coach Mohammed Fathy despite dismal performance in 2014 football season.

Mtambo said the club management has a lot of faith in coach Fathy.

He said the management was optimistic that Fathy will help Kabwe Warriors return to the elite league after the 2015 soccer season.

He stated that immediately Fathy joined the team in the middle of the 2014 season, the team got very strong and started reaping the desired results although it was eventually relegated.

Mtambo told ZANIS Sports in an interview in Kabwe yesterday that the team’s sponsors, Zambia Railways Limited, has already spoken to the coach and assured him of total support.

And Mtambo said although being relegated to the lower division was not a pleasant feeling, Zambia Railways management has resolved to maintain the same support to the team.

He also said sponsors and club management were waiting to hear from the technical bench on specific areas in the team that need enforcement ahead of the 2015 soccer season.

Kabwe Warriors were demoted to the lower division after finishing on the thirteenth position with 34 points in the 2014 FAZ/MTN super division league.
