PF Northern Province Secretary Everist Chela has vividly denied allegations that he has received K250, 000 on behalf of regional party officials to endorse Miles Sampa ahead of this weekend’s general conference slated for Kabwe.

Reacting to assertions by PF presidential aspirant, Geoffrey Mwamba that Mr Sampa had dished out money to the provincial party officials to woo support from the region, Mr Chela described the sentiments as malicious.

Mr Chela has since challenged Mr Mwamba to prove allegations leveled against him.

He wondered why Mr Mwamba had decided to make wild allegations against members of the Electoral College.

Mr Chela told Mano News that on the contrary, the Northern Province Executive Committee has not endorsed any of the party presidential contenders.

• Yesterday, PF presidential aspirant, Geoffrey Mwamba charged that the Everist Chela led executive committee had received K250, 000 from Miles Sampa to woo support from the region.

Speaking in a telephone interview with Mano News from Lusaka, Mr Mwamba popularly known as GBM charged that party officials in the province has shown bias towards Mr Sampa.

Meanwhile, the Central Committee Meeting held at State House yesterday has resolved to go the General Conference to be held in Kabwe at Mulungushi Rock of Authority using the 2010-2011 delegates’ list.

Those contesting the PF presidency are; former first lady, Christine Kaseba, Lusaka mayor Mulenga Sata, Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili, Defence and Justice Minister Edgar Lungu.

Others are Matero MP Miles Sampa, Ambassador Seleman Banda, Kasama Central MP, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, Commerce Minister Robert Sichinga, Nchanga MP Wylbur Simuusa and former Foreign Affairs minister Given Lubinda.
