Mansa woman found dead in cassava field, cuts on her head, neck and hand

Police in Mansa District have picked up a body of a  sixty four year old woman of Chitamba Village who was allegedly brutally murdered by unknown people.

The aged woman named as Mary Sondashi of Kalasa Lukangaba’s Chiefdom was found dead in her cassava field by alert villagers with deep cuts on her head, neck and hand.

ZANIS reports that Luapula Province Police Commissioner Malcolm Mulenga confirmed this in an interview in Mansa District , today.

 

 

Mr. Mulenga said two hoes were found at the crime scene suspected to have been used in the killing as were blood stained.

 

 

The deceased reportedly left her home on the morning of November 20, 2014 around 06:00hours for her field but never returned.

 
This prompted family members to institute a search for her but to no avail and the body was only was only found the following morning.

The body of deceased is lying in Mansa General Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem and the Police has since launched investigations in into the matter.

 

 

Meanwhile, a mob of youths from Chitamba Village have marched to Police in Mansa demanding an end to such killings in the area.
