The Countess of Wessex has arrived in Zambia to attend late President Michael Sata’s burial which will take place tomorrow at the Embassy Park in Lusaka.
The Countess of Wessex will represent Queen Elizabeth II at the burial.
She arrived aboard a South African airways flight around 18:00 hours today.
She was welcomed by British High Commissioner to Zambia James Thornton and Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Emerine Kabanshi.
The Countess of Wessex is the wife of Queen Elizabeth’s youngest son, Edward.
Mr. Sata, who died in London on October 28, 2014, will be buried tomorrow at the Embassy Park in Lusaka.
The burial will be preceded by a requiem mass of the late President Sata at Heroes stadium in Lusaka where thousands of people will gather.
Burial procession begins at 12:00 hours after the requiem mass.
Several Heads of State have since arrived to attend the burial of the late President Sata while other countries have sent in representatives.
