Clergy mourns President Sata

Lusaka, Zambia,  October 31st, 2014 —-  The Zambia Anglican Council (ZAC)  has joined the rest of the country in mourning the passing on of the Republican President of Zambia Michael Chilufya Sata.

 

The Council says the  passing away of the President is a national tragedy. and we therefore wish to express our deepest and sincerest condolences to the family of the late President Sata and to the people of the Republic of Zambia.

 

“  The  passing away of the President is a national tragedy and we therefore wish to express our deepest and sincerest condolences to the family of the late President Sata and to the people of the Republic of Zambia, “ the council says .

 

ZANIS reports that this is contained in a statement signed by the Councils’ board members namely  Archbishop Albert Chama – Archbishop of Central Africa & Bishop of Northern Zambia, Bishop Derek Kamukwamba – Bishop of Central Zambia and  Bishop Robert Mumbi – Bishop of Luapula.

 

Others are  Bishop William Mchombo – Bishop of Eastern Zambia and Bishop David Njovu – Bishop of Lusaka.

 

“  We urge our fellow countrymen and women to honour the memory of President Sata by mourning him in peace and unity as well as in a dignified manner, “  says the clergymen in the statement.

 

They have pledged their commitment to our prayers the Acting President Dr Guy Scot as he oversees the affairs of this nation during this trying moment.
