—-A Senior citizen of Shangombo district in Western Province says President Michael Sate’s death has been received as a blow among residents, as the area experienced tremendous developmental projects and programmes since the late Republican President assumed office in September 2011.

Fabien Liwakala told ZANIS in Shangombo today that President Sata proved to the whole nation that he had a passion to improve the poor citizenry’s well-being as can be witnessed from the many development activities in Shangombo today.

Mr Liwakala noted that shortly after winning the 2011 general elections, President Sata initiated, among others, the splitting of Shangombo into two districts, a development he said has enabled people have access to various daily needs without having to walk long distances.

He stresses that since 2012, the number of vulnerable people in poverty stricken area benefitting directly from government resources through social cash transfer under the Department of Social Welfare has increased vividly.

Mr Liwakala has since sent a massage of condolences to the First Family and the country as a whole.

He further appealed to all Zambians to mourn President Michael Chilufya Sata with the love and dignity he deserves.
