Nakonde, October 21,2014,ZANIS……Nakonde District Commissioner James Singoyi has praised stakeholders that are supplementing government efforts in addressing problems of Gender based Violence and HIV/AIDS.
ZANIS reports that he said this over the weekend during a Planned Parenthood Asociation of Zambia (PPAZ) annual general meeting held in Nakonde district.
Mr Singoyi said he appreciated the efforts of organisations such as Action Aid Zambia, Corridors of Hope, Zambia Center for Communication Programme, Women and Law in Southern Africa (WILSA) and World Vision Zambia.
The DC said he was happy with the work that the PPAZ was doing in the district in conjunction with the Ministry of Health.
Mr Singoyi also thanked PPAZ for training 20 peer educators who are currently working in the 10 rural health centers in the field of adolescent sexual health production.
The District commissioner has however appealed to the PPAZ to open up other branches in the Province as it only exists in Mpika and Nakonde districts.
