Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) National president Masiye Lungu has said that a broken home is a danger to society.

Ms Lungu said a healthy family free from all forms of violence is cardinal in enhancing social and economic development of the country.

She called on men to take a leading role in ensuring that families stay in peace and inspire their children to embrace peaceful living conditions.

ZANIS reports that Ms Lungu said this in Chawama compound in Lusaka today during the Good Husband Campaign Evaluation Meeting.

The evaluation meeting which attracted over 50 couples was held under the theme “Men taking the lead in ending violence against women and girls”:

And Ms Lungu urged men to take the Good Husband Campaign seriously as it is cardinal in reversing the escalating cases of gender based violence in the country.

Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries January Kazungala praised the YWCA for the programme saying it has helped to stabilise his family.

The Good Husband Campaign was launched in 2013 in a bid to include men in the fight against gender based violence.
