THE Choma Municipal Council (CMC) has warned that it will prosecute people that have continued to litter the town with offensive materials such as sex booster posters and flyers.

Posters and fliers advertising medicines for male organ enlargement or sex boosters are distributed by agents for traditional doctors, to members of the public in the busiest points of town, while others were stuck illegally on walls and buildings.

Council public relations officer Ramona Phiri said the posters and fliers were illegal and had become a public nuisance in Choma and throughout the country.
Such materials were not only offensive in nature, but had also contributed significantly to the littering of Choma, the provincial capital of Southern Province.
“Any persons found wanting will be contravening Section 9 of the Public Health Act and shall be prosecuted in the courts of law,” she said.

Ms Phiri said the local authority was committed to ensuring sanity in its municipality and it would not take lightly any persons found contravening its mandate.
