100 Solwezi youths on entrepreneurship skills training

Solwezi, Oct16/14, ZANIS——North-western Province Permanent Secretary, Amos Malupenga, has commended the German Savings Bank for International Corporation on its initiative to train over 100 youths in entrepreneurship skills in Solwezi district.  

 

Mr Malupenga made the commendation in a speech read for him by his deputy, Alfred Chingi, at the official launch of the training programme in Solwezi yesterday.

 

He said the need to invest in young people is crucial to the creation of employment and economic growth.

 

Mr Malupenga said government remains committed to supporting capacity building initiatives targeted at young entrepreneurs to empower them with skills to grow their businesses. 

 

Meanwhile Junior Achievement Zambia, who is conducting the workshop in partnership with the German Savings Bank, expressed hope that participants in the course will use the training to improve their small businesses and create employment for themselves and their communities.

 

Junior Achievement Zambia Executive Director, Teddy Nyasulu, said the training will focus on financial literacy and basic accounting in business.
